Mukesh Sadana is a Digital Development Advisor and Financial Inclusion Specialist with USAID/India. He has over 17 years of work experience in rural development and has worked in sales & marketing, banking, and consulting. Mukesh has worked in Bangladesh, India, Kenya, Indonesia, the Philippines, Nepal, Vietnam, Malawi, and Papua New Guinea on a wide variety of assignments supporting government agencies, central banks, private sector, and service providers in these countries.
Mukesh is currently working on identifying and integrating digital technologies that can help development programs reach out to target populations in efficient, user friendly and cost effective ways. He is also managing a project that aims to increase use of digital payments among low-income populations and small merchants. An incubator set up under the project is supporting five start-ups with different business models focusing on a wide variety of use cases.
Mukesh has earlier worked with ICICI Bank- the largest private sector bank in India, and Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. (AMUL)- the largest milk and milk products marketing federation in India. Before joining USAID, Mukesh worked with MicroSave, a technical assistance provider and think tank.
He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management from the Institute of Rural Management in Anand (IRMA), India.
