Kaiser Shen serves as the Tuberculosis Lab and Diagnostic Network Advisor. In this role, Kaiser aims to strengthen and improve TB laboratory and diagnostic network capacity, including oversight of digital health activities. He also supports PEPFAR-funded USAID TB laboratory activities through monitoring and advising USAID partners on laboratory interventions.
Previously, Kaiser served as a Senior Specialist for the Association of Public Health Laboratories, managing PEPFAR-related laboratory systems strengthening activities in Angola, Mozambique, Zambia and South Africa. He was previously at USAID serving as a Global Health Fellows Program Intern with the Tuberculosis Team focused on GeneXpert implementation. Kaiser has worked in the academic arena with biomedical research experience in immunology, microbiology and vaccine development. Kaiser holds a Master of Public Health from John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Master of Science in Microbiology from the University of Michigan.
