Jennifer Harnisch Granger
Jennifer Harnisch Granger obtained her MS in Organic Chemistry in 1998 and PhD in Analytical Chemistry in 2001 from Iowa State University. After graduation, she spent three years as a research scientist in R&D and marketing at Waters Corporation. In this capacity, she authored six patents and launched four new products to support liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry in the life sciences. She then accepted a position as team leader for the LCMS analytical group at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals where she was responsible for managing and maintaining open-access site instrumentation used by over 100 chemists. In 2007 she returned to academia and joined the Nano Institute of Utah at the University of Utah as a Research Associate. Her current research is dedicated to the development of new detection strategies for pathogens, diseases, and biowarfare agents.
